The depicted deity's face has plump cheeks with smooth and rounded contours, displaying a serene and tranquil expression. The eyebrows are gently arched, eyes deep-set, and elongated with slightly lowered eyelids, giving a narrow-eyed appearance. The earlobes extend down past the jawline, presenting a round and flat shape. The overall contour of the head forms an arc, while the flesh bun hairstyle rises gently and protrudes. These features align with the characteristics of Buddha statues from the Northern Qi period. The hair bun in this statue is unadorned, shaped like a cylindrical bucket. It is decorated with lotus flowers and tassels. The back of the deity's head is surrounded by a circular nimbus with nine Buddha figures, in accordance with the decorative style of the Northern Qi period. The statue's mouth is gracefully contoured, with a subtle and elastic upturn at the corners, creating a slight smile. The figure of Avalokiteshvara is adorned with a waistcloth and celestial robe, adorned with intricate and beautiful jewel decorations. The right hand is raised with the palm facing upward and the palm facing outward, forming the gesture of fearlessness. The left hand points downward with the palm facing outward, forming the gesture of granting wishes. The deity stands with both feet exposed on a lotus pedestal in the shape of the Chinese character "工."
The face, chest, hands, feet, and parts of the jewel decorations on the deity are embellished with gilding, while the hair bun, celestial robe, lotus pedestal, and background are painted. However, due to the passage of time, both the gilding and paint have experienced weathering and deterioration. The statue is crafted from limestone, which has taken on a gray hue on the exterior due to weathering over the years. The top portion of the hair bun has also weathered and calcified. Despite these effects, the statue remains well-preserved. The gilding and paint have become absorbed into the stone.
