The Buddha head in features plump cheeks and a smooth, rounded contour. The expression is serene and tranquil, with slightly raised eyebrows, deep-set eye sockets, elongated narrow eyes that are slightly lowered at the outer corners, and drooping earlobes that extend past the jawline. These characteristics are indicative of the standard features of Northern Qi Buddhist statues. The overall profile of the head forms a curved arc, with the flesh bun gently protruding. The forehead exhibits flowing hair, consistent with the characteristics of Buddha heads from the Northern Qi period.
The hairstyle is depicted with a bare ushnisha (cranial bump), while the cylindrical headdress is adorned with images of Buddhas and scrolling leaves. The central Buddha figure on the headdress is depicted with a bare chest and draped in a robe that hangs down in a manner similar to the "Fudai" style, which aligns with the characteristics and decorations of Buddha heads from the Northern Qi period. The lines of the mouth are delicately curved, with a subtle smile at the corners, exhibiting flexible and nuanced contours.
This Buddha head is carved from granite, but due to its age, the exterior has weathered to a grayish hue. There are signs of repair on the bridge of the nose, and the tip of the left earlobe is missing. The surface of the Buddha head and the headdress show some calcification. Portions of the damaged headdress and tassel also display calcification.
