he horse bodies and tails were crafted separately and then joined using clay. The saddle draping down on both sides of the horse's back was added using an appliqué technique. After completion, the figurines were coated with a thick layer of glaze. The two horses face each other, with their ears bound together at the center of the mane. The shoulders and necks are adorned with marbled white and reddish-brown manes. Below the manes and along the neck, there are naturally dispersed yellow-brown glaze effects. The horses are robustly built, with long and powerful limbs. Each of them has one front leg extended forward and the hind legs slightly bent, evoking the impression of a powerful start.
The figurines are made from marbled clay in shades of beige and red-brown, exhibiting a coarse texture with natural impurities. After shaping, a layer of makeup clay was applied, followed by a coating of white glaze. The horse bodies were then brushed with black glaze as a base, with accents of yellow-brown and green glaze highlighting the manes, saddles, tails, and thighs. After firing at around 800 degrees Celsius, the variations in glaze thickness led to dripping and dispersion effects, especially noticeable around the mouths of the horses and the lower parts of their legs.
The glaze produces a natural lustrous finish reminiscent of mother-of-pearl, while age-related fine crack patterns are visible. The figurines are believed to have been unearthed and have undergone cleaning and preservation.
