拉坏後接胎、微修胎，器內以手觸之有用竹片修胎之痕跡，直口、短頸、溜肩，罐身呈上豐下狹之狀，腹部以下漸收，典型明朝嘉靖罐器。
The jar was hand thrown and slightly trimmed, with signs of bamboo trimming still noticeable by touch. With a straight mouth, short neck, and a sloped shoulder, the jar is wide on top narrow on the bottom below the belly. This is a classic Ming dynasty Jiajing period jar shape.
游魚的寓意，富足有餘、吉慶有餘、年年有餘。器身罐口由上至下繪以一周卷草紋，豐肩處繪青花蕉葉紋，罐腹通景繪滿紋飾，有六條礬紅身、黑彩點睛的鯉魚，穿梭在青花水藻、荷花、慈菇之間，近底飾青花水草蓮瓣紋一周。全器構圖疏密得體融合在一起，色彩對比強烈，用筆豪放不羈，線條挺健有力，使此罐器更加生動活潑。
The fish that decorate the jar symbolizes abundant prosperity and auspiciousness every year. The mouth of the jar is decorated with scrolled grass pattern from the top extending down to the bottom. Blue banana leaf patterns decorate the slopped shoulder. Six red koi fish with black eyes shuttle through blue seaweed, lotuses, and arrowheads on the belly of the jar. The bottom of the jar is decorated with a circle of blue water plants and lotus petal patterns. Overall, the composition of the patterns is very well integrated and has a strong color contrast. Strokes used to create the decorations are powerful and straight, giving the decorations on this jar a life-like appearance.
青料是標準明朝嘉靖時期以氧化鈷為著色劑，並含鐵、錳等氧化物的回青，青花料微吃進胎骨；礬紅是嘉靖朝所用略帶橙色的礬紅，與明朝早期和中期所用的鮮紅(大紅色)不同，礬紅先平塗填色後勾線，填色和勾線時皆填到適合的厚度，燒後色料微隆起於瓷面，呈色鮮亮透明。透明釉以浸釉方式施釉，釉水肥厚、微帶蛋青，罐內刷釉。
The blue dye is standard Ming dynasty Jiajing period dye that uses cobalt oxide as the coloring agent and contains other oxides such as iron and manganese. The blue dye has slightly penetrated the clay of the jar. Alum red is a slightly orange red used during the Jiajing period and is different than the bright red used during early and mid-Ming dynasty. The alum red is first used to fill out the fish before being used to finish the lines. An appropriate thickness is reached while filling in and lining the pattern. After firing, the coloring slightly protrudes from the ceramic surface and has a bright translucent color. Clear glaze is applied by dipping the jar in the glaze, resulting in a thick glaze layer that has a slight bluish tint. Glaze is also applied to the inside of the jar.
底足修圓足，足底微帶火石紅，此時胎泥已不能精細淘煉，明顯含有雜質，胎體較厚重，而且厚薄不均勻，器物修胎也不太精細，接痕明顯，燒製大型器所用之胎泥質地明顯粗糙。
